ALL FOLK’D UP RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘THE LONG HAUL’ CO-WRITTEN BY DEREK RYAN

Folk favourites All Folk’d Up are celebrating their roots and looking firmly towards the future with the release of their brand new single ‘The Long Haul’, co-written by lead singer Pauric Mohan and renowned Irish country singer-songwriter Derek Ryan.

Marking the first time the band have collaborated with Derek, the new recording brings together two artists with a shared musical heritage and a deep connection to Irish traditional music. Both All Folk’d Up and Derek Ryan have strong traditional music backgrounds, with years of performing, competing and winning on the Fleadh circuit helping to shape their musical journeys.

The new single also sees All Folk’d Up return to their roots in a very literal sense, with the accompanying music video filmed in Aughnacloy, the hometown of the band and a place which has played an important part in their story.

For All Folk’d Up frontman Pauric Mohan, ‘The Long Haul’ is particularly special as it reflects exactly where the band find themselves today, years into their journey and still passionate about making music with no intention of slowing down.

“I’m probably more excited about this recording than anything we’ve done in a long time. ‘The Long Haul’ really represents us as a band. We’ve been doing this for so many years now, we’ve travelled the roads, played countless shows and worldwide festivals and experienced so much together… at this stage we really are in it for the long haul. We absolutely love what we do, we love getting on stage and playing for our fans and that hasn’t changed. If anything, we’re enjoying it more than ever. To have a song like this that reflects that journey and to have Derek Ryan involved has been really exciting for us.”

The release comes at a particularly busy time for All Folk’d Up, who have just finished a packed summer festival season, with notable performances including their highly anticipated appearance to thousands of fans at the Féile in Belfast and being special guests at The Irish Open in Doonbeg on Sunday 13th September.
